The Wicked + The Divine (Imperial Phase, Part 2): A Book Review

"Am I the only one who did not see that coming?"

You wouldn't think that that line was a part of the comic, but you'd be wrong. There are so many things that happened in this volume that you just can't help but go... huh?

The art continues to be beautiful. It's definitely breathtaking whenever I open a volume in this series. Each character is drawn beautifully, each situation so crisp and clear in my mind.

However, the good thing seems to pretty much stop there for me?

The plot continues to derail and there are still so many times when I think to myself that this can't be where the author is going with this. There are twists that happens and it's surprising but not because it's well-crafted but because it feels so randomly out there that you felt like you picked up a wholly different book.

I still care about the characters though, so there is that. But with each turn of the page, it is getting to the point where I am exhausted with them, and for them.

I want this story to end, and not in a good way.
